LOL! Indeed!

Was a huge Aldo Nova fan (and have always dug Rick Neilson). But I would have little interest in spending $2K on an LP with an Explorer neck, much less $10K. It's like a carnival freak show.

I like the idea of an LP with an Explorer headstock. But not for 10G's. Realistically, I like the Explorer body shape better than the LP anyway.

A buddy of mine has an Aldo Nova model.

Part of his collection!

Re: *** Rare Gibson Custom Shop

That's the XPL series that only lasted 2 years (1985-86), I believe. Rumor has it that it was Gibson's way of clearing out extra parts, strictly labeled Custom Shop because it didn't fit any standard production guitar. They did V's, DC's, LP's all with explorer necks, as well as a more shred version Xplorer. No way remotely worth $10k. :smoker:

This is just too sensible to NOT be true!

Kind of like the "Aged Crapezoid Inlay" incident where they put all of those ugly yellow inlays on the guitars. You know they bought crap, or did something stupid and then made that up.
I have two 35+ year old guitars (and one Murphy aged one). The inlays are as white as the day they were made!
