Rarest guitar you've played? Most expensive?

Re: Rarest guitar you've played? Most expensive?

well as far as rare goes, I have had a one of kind custom made guitar and i will have more from the same builder.

If we go for most expensive, I have to say the prewar gibson acoustic and the 53 tele. Both played great though the gibson had a little hole beat into the side of the guitar. Still sounded good though. The 53 was one of the best playing teles i have had my hands on and It is the reasone I have a "replica" in the works

The most expensive was a Les Paul standard. There are no Gibson dealers in my town so when I went to Denver I played one. Good times.

Hmm...the studio I work for has a lot of vintage stuff...the cream of the crop is probably the 59 strat....I played Joe Diorio's guitar when I was studying with him. That is a 50s 175 in every picture ever taken of Joe, so its worth a lot...I played a Ramirez that Segovia toured with, who knows what thats worth...

I played a James Tyler today at the Spartanburg show. It was excellent, but I've played Custom Shop Strats that were just as good.

Very beaten up prewar gibson acoustic, small body. looked kinda robert johnson esque is the best I can describe it from memory. The rarest and most expensive I have really played instead of just strummed was my guitar teachers Schecter Custom shop strat. Before I played that guitar I never knew what people meant when they said a guitar played like butter, the tone was exquisite too. Someday when I have a real job i'm going to order one of those.

Well, I have owned a '63 Strat, a late '50s Les Paul Special in TV yellow as well....

I used to hang out all the time at Southworth Vintage Guitars when it was on McArthur Blvd. in D.C....so I played scores of cool vintage stuff.
