. . . sound a helleva lot better than i ever thought it could/should !
Went with my cousin to his jam room, and i plugged my custom, PTP hand wired 4-into-1 RAT clone (w. LM308) into his (plz don't larrff) Spider Valve w 2X12 Laney cab.
I used a very clean setting (BLUES) with almost zero gritt from the amp.
B/M/T EQ on the amp was at noon.
Maxed out the RAT, and pluged his Ibanez S-series-something with BlackOut Metal's into it and started playing.
Bloody Hell . . . it sounded REAL GOOD !
The Rat took on an entire diff personality, compared to my SG w SD A2P's.
With my SG, i got a good overdriven bluesy tone, but with the S-series w BO's, it became a heavy curnchy fuzz-like filth, that was a joy to play.
And i did not notice any active-compression like EMG's do with your tone either !
I might just get an uber cheap plank and give it a set of BlackOuts for those rainy day, hooligan times.
