I am thinking of putting a staple pick up into my 1959 ES-225T. Will a staple pick up fit into the rout of an old P-90?

Standard staples are p90 route... Which one u getting? Debating a staple or firebird for an upcomming build.

Proper staple pickups are a LOT deeper than a p90, which makes a typical p90 rout too shallow for a staple. Additionally the mounting holes are on diagonal corners, unlike the more centred mounts of a p90.

These are solid body or semi-hollow-body considerations, though. The OP's guitar is an ES-225. The guitar needs a dog-ear P90, which does not have the height screws in the corners. And the cavity depth is not a concern on a hollow-body.

To the OP, the only issue will be the spacing of the pickup mounting screws (the ones that go through the dog ears into the top of the guitar). Since the dimensions aren't published on the Website, as they are with most SD pickups, I would call or write the Custom Shop and ask what that measurement is.

Yea, the ES-225T is a thin line, full hollow body so the depth is not a problem. Just clearance for magnets and adjusters. Also the mounting holes for the dog ear. I guess a call is in order.
