Reccomend me some acoustic strings!

I've not found my perfect string yet. So far i've tried

Elixir - sounded nice but every set i had snapped on me, and they're expensive so i havent gone back yet

DR coated didnt like at all, and didnt last very long either!

DR (not coated) these were ok, nothing special for me to keep using them.

Thomastik were nice and deep sounding but dont last very long tone wise

daddario didnt have much depth to them, didnt last long

Martin but i honestly cant remember what they sound like as i havent had a set in nearly 3 years

I currently use Elixers and love them, but prior to that I used ernie ball earthwounds. I really did not like them after 1 week of playing. For that first week they were lively and full, but after that they became dull and lifeless. They seem to age much much quicker than anyother string I try which is why I do not use ernie balls on any of my guitars anymore. They were good at first, but sucked quickly. BTW I play electic 90 percent of the time so I did not even put too much play onto the strings.

Well i play acoustic 60% of the time I'd say, so I need strings that aren't gonna crap out on me tonally.

i use martin and i think they sound great!

much, much improvement over the DaDarrios that were on it. they sounded lifeleess and dull and the martins(even though a lighter gauge) rang out much more.

Ernie ball earthwood light's are my favs at the moment also like martins but they are a bitnon the expensive side for me

I just put some Dean Markley's on yesterday, I used to put them on my electrics, they will NEVER break.

The one's I have on my acoustic sound pretty good to.

Elixers are such a scam, I can't believe anyone still carries that webbed crap.:earl:

I have two main requirements for acoustic strings.
1. Phosphor Bronze NOT Bronze
2. The two plain strings MUST be silver/nickel NOT bronze!

Everytime I try and find those in Martins, I never find them. Only bronze B&E Yuck!

I'm not even picky. I just buy D'Addario 12's in a 3 pack and change them when they die out.

If elixirs are breaking on you, then you might want to look into a new nut and saddle... they're mellow sounding, will never have that new string sound. But some people like that.

I tried Elixirs and ended up hating them. They are crap.

I switched to martins and never looked back. Though I ended up getting rid of my acoustic.....which I regret very much.......... :crying:

Elixir's are the only strings that have snapped on my acoustic.

has anyone tried those firewire or kerly strings?
