Recessed body route question

I was wondering if a recessed routing on a body allowed a floyd rose original trem to do pull ups. Is a recessed route a dive only configuration? or does it allow both dive and pull ups? Also, what is the difference between floating and recessed ? are they the same?

Re: Recessed body route question

Yes. Recessing permits "pull ups".

No. Recessed is not a "dive only" configuration.

Yes. Recessing allows both.

Floating means that the FR baseplate meets the pivot posts above the surface of the guitar body wood. (Unlike the guitars of Edward Van Halen.)

Recessing is an additional process over and above setting as floating. They are not the same. Recessing is pointless without also floating.

Fast 'n bulbous. Also tapered. ?

Recessed can also so both dives and pull ups. They route cavity a little more in order to lower the bridge in to the body. You can try a charvel and then a jackson and see the difference yourself. Mos t of the jacksons have recessed bridged routings.
