TimmyPage New member Jul 14, 2006 #2 Re: Recodring a Tele... I need some advice Well. In general, heavier strings give more beef. My 9-46's hurt my ear, so I bumped them up 11-52 (which.. hurt my fingers at first) but was well worth its weight in beef.
