Mesa boogie 50caliber+ 112 combo, 50 watt all valve combo with single 12" 90 watt celestion black shadow. Ive got one and its the best amp ive "ever" heard for cleans...EVER DUDE! The cleans just sound simply phenomenal...no exaggeration! Then it can really get dirty too and sounds great on its own, but with the right pedal it sounds amazing! Used you will be able to pick one up for around that too i think.

Build in all tube reverb and 5 band EQ too. Awesome amp!

If you can find one, get it!

Peavey Classic 30 is in your price range, new.

Not a heavy metal amp. Good blues, rock amp stock.

Re: recommend a 30-50 watt 1x12 tube amp

Peavey Classic 30 or Laney LC series.

Re: recommend a 30-50 watt 1x12 tube amp

Laney LC30 or 50. They're quite cool all-rounders.

Or, Laney VC30. It's all-tube and tonally it is close to AC30, it has a strong British character but what the hell, it still got the blues ;)

Peavey Classic 30 or a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, but IMO the Peavey has a better lead channel, decent cleans and costs less.

I have a Laney AOR Pro Tube Lead 50w with 1 x 12" Celestion Sidewinder, 2 x EL34 power tubes, 4 x 12AX7 preamp tubes, active boost controls, and good effects loop. Great distortion sound and very versatile. No "real" channel switching, but a footswitch can control preamp boost, which is somewhat similar. You can only find them used. I bought a 1988 model used for $265 a few years ago. They also come in 30w and 100w versions, too. Definitely worth the money!

I recently acquired a Laney VC-30 1x12 & it's a very sweet amp, but I've got more amps then I actually need. I've been thinking of selling this one....if for whatever reason you're not finding what you're looking for, gimme a yell & maybe we can work something out.

I'm in no hurry & still having fun playing around with it...even ordered the foot pedal, so........... :)

I have the head version. I gave $300 and a couple of useless gadgets for that. My best investment considering amps :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
