Recommend an 8" speaker for my amp

i have a Vox Pathfinder 15R, which sounds surprisingly good for what it is, but i am interested in a different speaker. the stock speaker sounds very warm, but i am interested in more clarity, and sparkle. i have considered putting in a jensen speaker.

the other idea i have is to just connect a sepeate cabinet with maybe a 12 inch speaker. the amp has a jack for doing this. but in that case, i wouldn't know which speaker to use, and i really would rather have a good quality 8" in the amp for portability. besides, i have all my gear in my closet, so i dont have alot of space for another cabinet.

I put a Jensen replacement speaker in my '56 Fender, Princeton and I love it. I've tried some different brands, and in my opinion the Jensen sounded the best.

The Jensen would be a good choice if your old speaker is an 8 ohm speaker. You have to use the correct impedence. Go to the Weber VST website called Amps N More BBS and pose your question. There'd be a Weber speaker to suit your needs. In my Fender Champ, I asked Ted Weber to make me a special 10" speaker that would fit in that box. It's called a P10RT and sounds great. I did have to make a new speaker baffle, but I kept the other one. Lew

I used a Jensen in my Champ, but I'd talk to Weber.

you also need to check the dimensions in some small amps to make sure you can get the darn speaker in the cab.
