Recommend me a Wah!

Re: Recommend me a Wah!

Lew: Cool...

John: That all sound's wicked! Cheers bud! What the deal with the Foxrox buffer? I'm gonna be running it in place of the crybaby in the chain below (in my signature), so I'm guess probably not necessary?

Cheers for all your help guys!

The buffer increases the output or changes the impedence of the wah so you can plug your wah into a fuzz first....One of the problems early on with vintage wahs, was oscillation and a crappy overall wah tone unless you plugged into the fuzz first and then the wah....Some guys(Myself being one of them) Don't like the sound of running into the fuzz first,as I feel it colors the actual wah tone too much...

I've seen quite a few pictures recently of Hendrix where you see him plugged into his Vox wah first and then into his Fuzz Face...I always thought it was the other way around? I'm sure Roger Mayer fixed any issues Jimi had between his fuzz and wahs though....

I have some pictures for those that think I'm wrong....LOL You clearly see his coiled guitar cable going right from his guitar and into his Vox wah...The fuzz is connected next and after his wah...

So is it a problem limited to Fuzz pedals or with all fuzz/dist/OD pedals?

It's always been a problem(From day 1) with a Fuzz and a wah together...This isn't a problem,at all,on modern overdrives and distortion devices...
