Gentlemen, where is all the fuzz threads on this forum ?

No Fuzz Love here ?

OK, i want yet another fuzz - i love the stuf !

I have :

Little Big Muff
Double Muff
Turbo Rat
FZ-7 (Ibanez)
Superfuzz (used)
Expandora (used)

I am always on the lookout for a good bargain !

Right now i have two S/C guitars & a Vox AC15.

Pedals that you do not need to recommed, is :

Russian Muff
Keeley Fuzz Head
Barber Trifecta Fuzz

. . . because they are on my GAS list already.

So i need new ideas/directions of fuzz, to look into.
If possible, keep the price (new or used) not more that the +/- $150.00 mark.
All fuzz must be rhythym-playing-friendly !

CURRENTLY OWN:

Analogman Sunlion: absolute favorite that I've tried

Foxroxx Capt. Coconut 2: haven't had it long, but the fuzz is very good.

Monsterpiece Two Headed Monster
: NPN/PNP...just received it in a trade & both sides kill !

HAVE OWNED:

Tonefactor Huckleberry: Best bang for your buck fuzz out there. I gave it up because of the Sunlion, but would grab another in a heartbeat

HBE UFO: Another killer fuzz, although I found the octave side fairly useless...for me.

T-Rex Mudhoney: Liked it as an OD more than a fuzz....actually, it was a VERY GOOD OD.

Lovepedal Karl: Hated it....just did nothing for me at all.

Don't recall any other that I've tried, but I'm digging fuzz boxes more & more these days. I used to grab ODs left & right, use them & move them. Now I'm getting into fuzzes & keeping them :bigok:

Re: Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

Ive heard the NKT Sunnface nails that hendrix Fuzzface tone .

Re: Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

Do a search brother...it seems like every guitar player in the world has gone fuzz crazy recently. There are fuzz threads left and right all over the place...

Funniest thing to me is that players with little to no control sound like a mess when they try to use a fuzz pedal but it doesn't seem to even slow them down from buying and trying to use more of them!

One more thing, if you have a GAS list that includes fuzz pedals why not look into those??

Man that was fast !!!!

Thank you to all so far !

To the man who invented fire...

...i allready looked into them - that is how i know i want them. But knowing how my little brain works, after i got them, i would like to have more. And MORE...

If it was not for my GF i would spend my entier income on gear, with out thinking twice.
Was not too impressed with the Expandora though , i bought it only because Billy Gibbons use(d) them, and it turned out to be almost a one trick pony :34: . . . but it is still early days. I only got it 2weeks ago, and work is keeping me real busy.

Just wanna see if thet is any fuzz out there that does not sound like the average Muff of FuzzFace.

Keep 'em comming guys !

James

PS :

...so far i am VERY dissapointed with the new Visual Sound V2 ANGRY FUZZ :crying:
(from the clips anyways !)

Fuzz pedals are different types of units, just try and bunch and see what you like. There are some killer low buck fuzz pedals out there that are killer!

Just read up and shop around...

The Homwbrew Electronics UFO/Fuzz is a modern/agressive 4 transistor silicon unit, with uber gain on tap, an up-octave (which I like), and is super quiet for all the effort. It has a vintage/modern switch. I find it more useful on the vintage setting. There is plenty of bottom end on this unit compared to other boxes.

Re: Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

All of Skreddy's stuff is amazing, mostly Muff based, but more usable (IMO) than a real Muff, much more usable than the NYC reissue. Zvex has some whacked out fuzzes, the Fuzz Factory is becoming an industry standard of sorts for modernish fuzzes, but he also has the Mammoth, and a few octave fuzzes. Euthymia does thier modern take on the Si and Ge Fuzz Face as well as the IC era Muff. If you want to jump off the deep end, check out Effector 13 and Devi Ever. Unfortunately it seems like nothing other than the Truely Beautiful Disaster stays in constant production, but I think you can order off the website. (Beware, this is some crazy stuff!) Also, the Red Witch Fuzz God has a nice modern mode, as well as the Caitalin Bread V8 Fuzz Tone Generator. Finally Analogman's Peppermint Fuzz is an interesting take on vintage fuzzes OTHER than the Fuzz Face (one of my current GAS items ;)) and the Ashbass Fuzzbrite is a clone of the old Mosrite Fuzzrite. I guess also there are a slew of Tone Bender clones from all eras...

Enough stuff to check out? ;)

:sigh: :ok: :cool2:what's fuzz, I've never heard of such a thing! :)

What ? You must be joking . . .

Fuzz came from God himself - his gift to guitarist who knows what good tone should be !

But OK, let this noob school you in fuzz.

FUZZ 101 :

This is NOT fuzz ...

Call it what you want (i know what i would like to call it), but it is not fuzz.

Googled/youtube'd the V8 and that thing sounds wicked !

I also would not mind having the FuzzFactory, but right now, is still a little too steep, price wise - i'll wait for a bargain on a used one.

Some guys said i must look inot the Peperment Fuzz.
Is that a White Stripes-in-a-box / knock-off ???
If it is, why not sell the Big Muff in redn'white swirly colours ?

Keep them comming, so far i learned alot about fuzzes i never knew - thanks !
