Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

Re: Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

Well, it was never a cheap pedal, add to that it's a great unit, limited production, now out of production, and various threads like these all but guarantee a high price. Look at it like a Jimi in a Box pedal. If you don't need the Vibe (big portion of the CC) it's only a Fuzz Face and Octavia in there. He still sells the Hot Fuzz seperately (if you want a great Si Fuzz Face) and Analogman's Ge Sun Face is a great Ge FF, so do you really need it? Tough to tell...

Well, i have zero modulation at this point in time, but i can never have enough fuzz :D

Better see what his other pedals sound like !

Re: Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

I have a home built FuzzFace, Hendrix specs. But the transistors I bought just to try it out isn't matched that well. So well hmm... it should be named "Destruction Tone Fuzz" or something like that. As it goes all wacko when using more fuzz than 2 o'clock :D

The trick is to keep the guitar volume slightly down 8-9 and keep the fuzz pot under 2 o'clock.

But it's quite cool to mess around with and just go crazy... and it does some Hendrix tones surprisingly well :)

I should make some clips of it just for fun!

Thank you very much !

Love to hear that clip, as i never heard a FuzzFace that blew my socks off, but still would like to have one in my ever growing collection of fuzz-mania :nervous:

EDIT

Beautifull wood colour !

Re: Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

Yeah, to 2nd what PFDarkside was saying, it never was an inexpensive box.

Dave still sells the Hot Si Fuzz & the Octavia pedal, so they are still out there for less.

I happened upon a good deal for the CC....traded 2 pedals that I wasn't using. But they are going for big money used.

Mine is in excellent condition & I've got the fuzz cards & expression pedal on order WHILE THEY'RE STILL AVAILABLE.....so I'll be set with this puppy.

Is it worth it ?

Is a Klon "worth it" ?

A Gibson ???

It's all relative to what the market dictates. If guys are getting $750 & up for a Klon, it doesn't necessarily mean it's "worth" that; it's the amount people are willing to pay for it.

mmm ....... looks like both will go onto my "look into" file then !

Just how popular is the FuzzFactory ?
Any BIG NAMES out there using/recording with it ?
I am just curious, as ever since i started to look into fuzz pedals online, i see/hear/read soooo much about them, even on youtube, but i can not find any artist using it, and with all the comotion over it, it sounds like it is the next "Big Muff" !?

Thanks

James

Anyone ?

No well known guitarists (except. Muse - don't like the vocals of that band, music is good though) using the FuzzFactory ?

? ? ? ?

Nick Greer Razor Burn Fuzz

Re: Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

Monsterpeice is great bang for the buck and their two headed line is awesome as you get two full fuzz circuits in one enclosure of your choice

You just missed out as I sold a two headed fuzz with a classic germainum and a tone bender mkII circuit, both with bias knobs on the forum here last week for $100.

I think the wait time is about 5 weeks or so these days but the prices are very reasonable and the build quality is as good as it gets, a work of art almost

Smashing Pumpkins use it, I think the Reverend Billy G has uses one as well.

Check out the Skreddy line of pedals, I love my Mayo even though it doesn't get much use these days. He has several other fuzz pedals with different voicings.

Why did you sell ? :2:

(If you ever want to get rid of the Mayo, lpmarshall... I'm your man)

Re: Recommend me another fuzz (...where is the fuzz love on this forum ?)

Why did you sell ? :2:

Had enough fuzzboxes really, as of late I've sold my Crucible Si and Ge fuzz, Two headed monster, sunface Ge and Fuzz Factory.

Just wasn't using them quite enough. The Crucible's are awesome bang for the buck but where a bit to aggressive and modern sounding for what I was after. Which is what they are designed for.

The Two Headed monster was a very sweet Ge fuzz but I'm tending to prefer Si like my Axis for the more gritty stuff and actually a ge treble booster like the Beano for that slight bit of fuzz on lighter stuff.

Fuzz Factory had a wealth of great sounds but it was to difficult to tweak it to repeatable setting and I'm honestly not a fan in the least of making squeals and osc sounds. I've played synths for about 15 years so I got all the knob twisting crazy sounds out of my system I guess lol

Bought a few other expensive pedals recently as well like a KR Mega Vibe, RM Voodoo VIbe and RM Vision Wah so thats over $1k in gear right there so some things had to move.

Putting my Keeley Fuzzhead on the block one of these days as well in fact.

For what I'm doing anymore, the Axis and Big Muff give me what I need
