If you want Slash's tone, then go for the Alnico II's.
I have a Custom 5 in my LP, and it's a very versatile pickup. The other Customs are highly praised too, though I haven't played them.

I'm pretty sure that I read Slash is using the Alnico Pro II's that people have already recommended. You're in luck if you want "the Slash tone," because it's basically those pickups, a Les Paul, a Marshall amp, and maybe a wah-wah pedal once in a while. No hassle, no fuss.

+1. he uses them for both bridge and neck. i was going to get this set, but i decided on getting the custom custom/pearly gates neck because ive heard good things about this combo and it seems more versatile IMO. im getting and installing the set this friday, ill tell people how it sounds in my lp. i might even post some clips if i find the time.
