Pfft ... hardware recorders are so 1997.![]()
Hardware recorders are great for a lot of things, but I need the power and features of a computer-based DAW. There is simply no hardware device that can do everything I need to do.
In any case, I just ordered Cakewalk SONAR 6 Studio Edition for $199 US. W00t!
what did you think of Reaper - did you try it out?
A bit ... the interface was pretty primitive. I also need something that supports ReWire plug-ins (I love Reason).
For the money, it's awesome.

How many tracks at a time are you guys recording with your PCs?
I probably should ask how many can you? Depends on I/O I am sure.
You don't record a live kit? How much is latency an issue when you build up tracks?
