recording ?

Re: recording ?

i dunno i think your money would be better spent on the first idea. You can either mic your amp or plug directly into your mixer and then into your soundcard. Get Cubase and then your rockin with as many tracks as you could possibly ever want.

Re: recording ?

Could just get a guitar port by Line6, then either download some software to record with or use thier own rifftracker recording software (havent used it myself yet)

Re: recording ?

well im buying cubase form musiciansfriend for $99 a behringer mixer for $50 a shure sm57 mic for $80 and my soundcard cost $30...thats all ud need

Re: recording ?

Guitar -> amp -> microphone -> mixer -> soundcard -> recording program

or

Guitar -> pod/vamp (type thing) -> soundcard -> recording program

Re: recording ?

As I've posted before in regards to recording on PC, your soundcard has to have an audio interface designed for recording. The "Line In" on most soundcards included in a PC are not line level, and will have a buzz in the middle register that will taint the recording. There are many interfaces available at low prices, but if you shop around, you can find one that includes lots of software. I picked up the E-MU 0404 soundcard for $99 at GC and it came with Cubase VST 4 (a 32-channel recording program) and several software programs that have all sorts of 32-bit effects. BTW, dont get to hung-up on clarity of soundcards as a rookie recorder. I have a 24-bit soundcard that results in CD quality and I only spent 1 C note.....

Re: recording ?

right you will need a soundcard designed for recording rather than a typical gaming card like the Soundblaster. I would take a look at the m-audio soundcards like the delta 44. This will give 1/4" connections from your computer into your mixer, DIbox or whatever you use. I have the Audiophile 2496 wich is a similar card with different connections and I run the Rca's right into my mixer and it works quite well for me.
