Redo bug bit me, thoughts?

Re: Redo bug bit me, thoughts?

Guitars sound better, drums sound bad, but that could be out of your control

Vocal sounds too "close" to the soundfield

Cool to hear the progress!

Keep it up man!

Re: Redo bug bit me, thoughts?

both are good, second one has more presence and compression. difference is slight. I kinda like the 1st one cause its less fatiguing sounding on the ears. 2nd is almost too grainy to my ears. both are still nice though. can hear everything good, ie bass is easily heard in both. good job on both. singing is more present in the new one which is important for this style. I get the redo bug too lolerz if you can critique any of my 4 songs I did in my sig would be much appreciated! thx

Re: Redo bug bit me, thoughts?

New one is way too compressed on the 2bus, a bit fatiguing to the ears.

Digging the vocals, but they could do with some more compression or automation for levels.

Drums... sound really live, and the cymbals sound mono - probably the biggest drawback of the mix.

Waayy compressed lol, I'm definitely not great at mastering, but that's why I have someone do it for me. He's a great singer, just recorded him bad, he's done stuff since then and sounded GREAT. Good to hear the drums sound live, I like live more than I do super processed, cymbals are stereo, but the OH were dirt cheap shure's. I like what I'm hearing and applying it too. Gracias to you all.
