Redoing the compressor?

Well what do you think of this idea.
Two in one comp, level and compressionx2.
No threshold or attack knob, just switchable between two modes.
The box will be like the old 9v line, almost as flat too, not thetall box that it uses now.
Would that work for you guys??

I'm now a dedicated compression user!

Would the compressors be stackable, or independent, say one for rhythm and one for lead? Would it be footswitchable?

I think it's an interesting idea!!

Re: Redoing the compressor?

I don't know...if the presets don't exactly match what someone wants then s/he is out of luck. I have found that I like to tweak the attack knob a bit depending on what guitar I am using and how loud I am playing. If you had internal pots that you could use to dial in the presets, that might help a bit, but I think tweakability is a nice thing in a compressor.

Most like the simple layout in live situations really.
That's exactly what I was thinking ... for live use, you have one compressor for clean or rhythm and another for OD or solos, not really for studio tinkering.

Re: Redoing the compressor?

Yep it would be very convinient for live usage.
We will also make one with a blend knob...well it is already blending, but some seems to like the idea of a parallel signal as well:)

Re: Redoing the compressor?

I'd like a compressor with a parmetric EQ, preferably multiband. Don't know whether it fits into a box, though? :)
