Went a little overboard covering the neck humbucker cavity, but it'll help hide my fill job. :firedevil

Did you give it the CSI treatment by filling a bag with red paint and then hammering it to get the splatter?

Can of paint (not spray paint) and a straw. Dip the straw, flick it, put a fingertip over the clean end, dip it again, hold it over the body, release... blow through it for small droplets.

Good stuff man!

Now make one covered in alien flourescent blood!

I was actually thinking about a black one splattered with florescent green. Just gotta find a can or bottle of that one. :D

And I might be putting one of these in it:

That looks sick. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Got it assembled, first pickup to go in was a GFS '59 model. Not bad, but definitely lacking in crunch. Clean was AMAZING though. I'm a high-gain guy though, so this will probably be pulled apart and put together with one of the GFS PATs to make a hybrid. :firedevil

I love these threads...

You have entirely too much fun!

If you ever let go of that thing, let me know.

I occasionally feel the need for a ritual sacrifice metal guitar.

very cool!! Being an 80s guy, I love the blood splatter ones! Reminds me of the Crue posters with Nikki's white warlock...

Re: Refinish Number 14 - No animals were harmed in the production of this guitar

Took out the 59 and installed the GFS Hot Pat, which seems to be their version of the Custom 5. Much better, but could be a little more brutal. Crunchy Pat (Ceramic) going in next. :D

Re: Refinish Number 14 - No animals were harmed in the production of this guitar

I'm guessing that big "blood splatter" over the neck pup was intentional? I think it would look better without it. Otherwise, I love it!

Outstanding.

Predator blood needs to be next. Xenomorph blood would be cool but I guess you'd have to carve chunks out of the guitar LMAO

Yup, the wood filler shrank a bit, so I wanted to hide it. Also, it's a BIG white spot on the body otherwise, so you'd want a larger splatter there anyway.

Installed the GFS Crunchy Pat, which is more like the Duncan Custom, definitely a good sounding pickup in this guitar. Plenty of brutality.

Nicely done.

You should still seek help.

:D

Im like you, I keep trying to get used to a guitar with an A2P or 59 inthe bridge, cuz I love so many recordings that were done using low powered pups, but I cant bond with them.. Need more power! Tried a PAF pro once too and same thing..
