Refret and reraius of my Dot

Re: Refret and reraius of my Dot

for the dot, whats the radius of the bridge? on fenders i dont worry so much about it since you can adjust the radius of the bridge but on most gibson style bridges ya cant

It's 12. I took my stew mac nut files to the saddles.

It came out hella well. It feels like a different neck with the normal bigger sized frets, 10" radius, and reshaped headstock. Put a Graph Tech slab nut in. I'm really happy with the Tusq slabs. Easy to shape and good tone. I also put a double thick A5 in the Distortion with ceramic spacers on the sides. I'm liking Alnico in the center with ceramic on the side, doesn't sound as sterile as only ceramic.

There's one note in the upper register that has less sustain because the fret isn't pressed down fully, but that's about it as far as everything functioning. So I'll be wary next time in pre radiusing the frets correctly and making sure they're flush with the board after I press them in.

Use some super glue, and press the fret down until it sets. That’s the standard method for lose frets. I use CA glue on all my frets when I install them.

And what you do is over radius the fret wire that way the two ends touch the fretboard first, and when you press or hammer the fret down it conforms to the fretboard radius.
