Everyone seems to think it's got the wrong name.

OK, what would you nominate as a more suitable name?

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

I just got mine in today. The thing is, it would be great for jazz. The fact that it can rock as well I think really just comes from the fact that it is indeed a humbucker. Humbuckers rock. :smack:

I still think Jazz is an appropriate name. It would be great for Jazz. It just so happens that it is versatile enough to be able to push an amp AS WELL as provide a warm, clear, jazzy tone.

I think someone who let the name fool them into thinking this HUMBUCKER couldn't rock would just be naive or inexperienced. I can't think of a SD humbucker that won't provide a decent push with enough gain.

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

i think we should name it....................... The 59 3000!!

it has the 59 quality tone with slightly less output and more on the high end! BUY ONE NOW!!!

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

Thing is, it's just as rockin' as it is jazzy.

Most people know this, and will buy it whether they are a rocker or jazz. (if they like the pickup of course)

But what if it did have a name that spoke rock. If you were a jazz player and had never heard of this pickup before would you even think of looking into it? I know i wouldn't.

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

how about "the Clear" ? ... but then again it might attract too many scientologists :) :)

not that there's anything wrong with that :)

actually, i think the screamin' demon is the one that needs renaming most

cheers,

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

john milner you say, might there be a story behind that?

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

I vaguely remember some parts of the story behind the JM model:)

Hey Jeremy, you're from Albany? Right down the street, I never knew! :drive:

Jeremy thanks for showing censorship on this site. Its not like I said anything bad grow up. Its hard for anyone to take this site seriously when you remove the post that don't prasie your product. So I gess this is a crappy place to come if you want to know the truth about gear. Because if it doesn't benfit you guys you just erase what you dont like.

If any of you guys want to hear the truth about gear and get both sides to a story come to guitar.com where I've been a member 1997.

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

"dick smoker" is not an appropriate name for a pup, nor is it appropriate to use that language on this forum.

i didnt find your post to be insulting to duncan, and even if i did i wouldnt remove a post because of that.

as far as maturity goes im not sure "so i guess this is a crappy place to come if you want to know the truth about gear. Because if it doesn't benfit you guys you just erase what you dont like." is a good demonstration of yours. people discuss the positive qualitys of other manufacturers products very frequently and people express unhappiness with duncan products as well with no retrobution.

there are many of people on this forum that find lots of good information and knowledgable people, if you dont find that to be the case, that is your loss.

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

I said dick smoke not dick smoker dick smoke. And I noticed you can post "Dick smoker" but I cant post Dick smoke. Whats up with that?

Re: Renaming the Jazz.

Maybe musical styles are a bad way to go for pup names. Especially for versatile pups that can cover more than one of them.

versa-jazz? Jizazz? Duncan "The Clear"?

^^^This is a A and B conversation so C your way out.

Of course, it's never A and B conversation when it's in the middle of a widely visible thread where lots of people WERE discussing what you so eloquently referred to as a DICK SMOKE.

You know how to PM jeremy, right? You could have just let him delete your post and be done with it, but NOOOOOOOOOO...you decided to start sh*t with a widely respected and admired administrator instead. Suffer the consequences. Don't try to take on the whole village by yourself, you won't win.

Re: Renaming the Jazz.
