Replace Humbucker with 2 Single Coils in H-S-S Strat

Re: Replace Humbucker with 2 Single Coils in H-S-S Strat

Thought I’d come back and post pics of the finished product.

I built this with a set of Lindy Fralin Real 54s and added his Split Steel Pole Single in the bridge as well. The 54 bridge also added a baseplate similar to a Tele bridge pup. Basically I couldn’t decide between a Tele bridge and a P90 bridge and this gave me the option. You’ll see the train of thought that led me here above.

Also there’s an S1 switch in the volume to make the parallel connections in series.

So here’s the final product. Neck and body purchased and finished by Warmoth.

Beautiful guitar. Thanks for posting. Did you previously have a preference for reverse slanted bridge pickups?

I had heard about the reverse slant and thought I'd give it a try. I may have done too much to really know if that's made a difference, but so far I really like the tones I'm getting out of the bridge.

I haven't even had her 24 hours yet though so... more to come.

What if you treat the 2 singles as a Humbucker and use a Spin-A-Split? This way you could blend in the second coil to any degree you want.

it might take 2 switches to do what you want. One for the Series-Parallel option and the second as an On-On-On to choose between the 2 coils.

Do 2 switches and a Blend Pot???
