Replaced Classic 57s with JB/Jazz in Faded SG - Impressions

Re: Replaced Classic 57s with JB/Jazz in Faded SG - Impressions

I've had no time to do any guitar stuff tonight but I'll lower both the pups tomorrow evening and turn up the amps, they're both a bit closer than necessary and I've found backing off the pups can de-congest things a bit.

After letting my ears settle in with these pups I've decided that they're great. Strapped some new strings on and lowered both the pups now they are almost too bright...almost, they're just right really :)

Every Les Paul Ive owned Ive struggled with the neck HB tone always being too dark and muddy.

Several pickups I like in the neck are: AIIP, PG, EVH wolfie, suhr aldrich......all with 500k pots of course

Strings vibrate a lot more at the neck position so if you are using sets like 490T/490R or 57 Classics the bridge will more often than not sound thin compared to the neck. With the JB/Jazz set you have a stronger bridge pickup so you get a better overall balance between neck and bridge.
