Replacement Bridge Pick-Up for Fat Tele

I have a beautiful Hot Rod Fat Fender tele from around 5 years ago. It is a lovely guitar with great tone, especially from the stock neck humbucker.

I want to change the bridge pick up for something a little hotter, warmer and fatter - also a little less "nasal". I really like QTR pounders (I use some in my other tele) but I am worried that a bridge QTR pounder might over power the lovely humbucker, especially in the split positions.

Any comments?

I am playing mostly classic rock (with a touch of country) through a Peavey Classic 50 (great tube amp for the money) with few effects.

Thanks guys!

i think a tapped qp might be a great choice. fat rock tone and a brighter less full throttle option when you want it

I really dig the STL-2 Hot Tapped combined with the APHn in my Fernandez 50's style tele.

A stock MIM Tele bridge pickup is what you need. Trust me when I say those things are FAT!!! You could easily mistake the bridge pup for a Les Paul.

My tele has QP's in the bridge and middle and a GFS Bigmouth in the neck. They are a perfect fit with each other.

Re: Replacement Bridge Pick-Up for Fat Tele

check the Haeussel Big Mag for Tele... i have it on the bridge of my Fender Standard and it's a great hybrid of a tele/P90 pup. it looks very similar to the QP (large flat oriented poles) and cleans well too (which QPs don't). it's not noisey either.

Thanks for your replies guys. Might go for a Haeussel tele Big Mag if I can find one!
