Replacement for Dimarzio SD

I put together a mahagony body/maple top and rosewood neck/ebony fretboard Warmoth guitar, and I got an Alnico II Pro for the neck, Fender Lace Sensor Gold for the middle, and Dimarzio Super Distortion for the bridge. I'm happy with the A2P and the Lace Sensor, but the Super Distortion sounds like I've got my wah pedal pushed all the way forward. I'm looking for what I did wrong, but I may have to just give up and replace it at some point. One of my issues may be that I got non f-spaced, but the gotoh 510 bridge I used has a wide string spread. The guitar overall is very bright and sharp sound, so I need a pickup with a lot of mids and lows to counter that. The ideas that I've come up with for replacements are:
Custom Custom Trembucker
Custom 5 Trembucker
JB Trembucker
Blues Saraceno Trembucker

Are there any that I should consider that I'm missing? I had thought about a bridge version of the A2P, but I want more output than it has. Which would you chose and why?

the spacing shouldnt mess with the tone that much. the super distortion isnt usually that bright. how close is the bridge pup to the strings? what amp and settings are you using?

I think your Super Distortion is wired wrong. It shouldn't be bright at all...it's got more lows and mids combined than any of the pickups you listed. And it certainly doesn't have that wah sound you're talking about.....not sure what...but something isn't right.


I've put that pickup in several guitars and it never ceases to amaze me with how it can beef up a sound.

It sounds like you've wired the Super Distortion out of phase.

Anyway, throw away that stinkin' Demazio and get yourself a Duncan!

That's exactly what I did when i wired my Warmoth with a Duncan 59 and a Super Distortion.

Switch the red and black wires on your DiMarzio and it should sound really thick and heavy...very, i dunno, drunk-on-whiskey sounding.

I'll switch those wires asap. I know I didn't do something right, but nothing I've tried has worked.

As far as settings, I'm using it on my Roland Cube 60 with the EQ knobs more or less strait up (although I do move them around). I've got it about level with the pickup ring, but I've moved that around and nothing changed.

It also sounds great in an RG! Or Basswood bodied guitar.. Makes it sound like an LP..
