Hello everyone,

First time poster. I'm am replacing the neck pickup (SC) on a Jackson Soloist with a H-S-S setup 1 volume and 1 tone.

The original SC pup is the standard white to the Selector black to tone.

The YJM has

Red/White - taped together

Green/Bare to Volume

Black to tone.

???
Thanks for your help.

green/bare = your old black
black = your old white
leave red/white taped together

Thank you! I appreciate the help.

I did the above, but soldered the green/bare to the volume (i didn't see your post prior).

I still have the black wire soldered to the tone.

Seems to be working...

?

Electrically it should work either way. You might run into issues with phase depending on whether you use the black or white to make the ground.

ok. thx. i'm going for basic functionality here. just replacing a noisy neck single coil. i wanted a hum-free good sounding replacement. i only plan on using in that one position.
