160 USD is actually cheap for that pickup. Any boutique winder (apart from Zhang
) charges at least as much as what the Duncan CS does.
BB is overall one of the best pickups I have ever come across. For evaluation of what it sounds like, you guys should do a search. If my memory serves me right, there should be quite a long thread, and not a single complaint about it.
That said, you have to be aware of what that pickup is. It is a 10K PAF, with an aged a5, mismatched coils, #42 plain enamel wire. So basically it is something like a beefed up antiquity with an a4 magnet, or beefed 59 again with an a4 magnet. They are like beefed up (for those of you who could try) Holmes's 4xx's, and I think better.
Anyways, I am real glad that I got 2 of them, one standard the other TB.
The only two brands of pickups I could get my hands on, which were not beaten by them BBs are Timbucker and Rolph bridges. But those suckers are more expensive than them BBs.
