resonator clip

Re: resonator clip

Cool clip. I'm curious about what resonator you were using and what mic?

I've played resonators for years, and I really like the Warren Haynes 2 DVD acoustic/electric slide instructional. I learned a lot from Haynes, Duane, and Eric Sardinas. I need to give more of a listen to Taj Mahal.

Re: resonator clip

VERY NICE INDEED !!!

I take it you used an all-metal tri-cone ???
I too would like to know what mic/pu you used ?

Gotta get my reso out again, and slip an Eric Sardinas CD in !

When is he bringing out his next CD ?

Re: resonator clip

Almost missed these. The resonator is my dad's national triplate which is a steel tricone model with nickel plating. Unfortunately I don't have any money for a good mic, so I used a crappy computer mic. I think that it picked up the reso vibe pretty well for what it is.

Re: resonator clip

I love that sound and style of playing. I wish I could do that. nice job.

Re: resonator clip

Thanks guys, I think I'll keep making some more clips.

#1) This stuff isn't too difficult to play, the real difficult part comes when you want to record it. Somehow me and mics don't get along...

This microphone is kind of funny though, it seems to pick more of the pure note up. This means that I can't hide behind the grind of the slide as much as I want. In a way, it's making me a much cleaner player, but in another way, it's making me self conscious :smack:
