On the basis that I've never heard the name James Dewar* before, I'd have to go with Paul Rodgers.

* runs off to find out who he is...

Dewar sings for Robin Trower. If you don't know Paul Rodgers , you've been living in a cave.

Does the sand get in everything.

Do you get to use that room full of gear you have, much ?

Who were your earliest musical influences?

Uh-oh. No replies for almost a day.

Looks to me as if Arabia needs a shake. :D

You have two minutes to speak your mind in front of every person in the world.... What do you have to say to us?

I am at long last back home from my travels further south (Peterborough if you must know). I will be working on a few answers very shortly.

Peterborough isn't properly South. It's at least seventy miles north of Watford. :D

Had to look back into the archive to find my standard Well Questions

here they are:

asleep and dreaming
could do or be anything money is no object neither is common sense or the laws of physics ( and of course the Shania Rule )
go

A belief in my own abilities would be enough

ever eat
an oyster
a booger
a grasshopper

No, I was a child once, not that I'm aware of

three people living or dead you'd like a 5 min conversation with.

Dave Grohl, Julius Caesar, Ernest Cooper

How long will it be before you stop working in "BFE" and settle down, and where will you choose to live when you're no longer working?

I'd happily leave there today, but maybe there are a couple of years left in it. Ideally, I'd like to settle in the Lake District

Do you ever set your intellect aside and let your emotions rule?

Too often I suspect

Do you own any guns?

None at all; never have and it's highly unlikely I ever will

Have you ever in your life engaged in a fist fight?

A few times - the outcome is generally not favourable

WTF is it you do out in the desert?

A curious mix of project and account manager for an IT company, with the IT company in question being a subsidiary of a large UK bluechip

And where did you get your exquisite taste in guitars?

I'm not sure I can answer that, as there was certainly no one musical in my family. I can only really put it down to having no money whatsoever for guitars, then moving to Saudi 15 years back and suddenly discovering I could induldge myself a little.

You're married, right? How do you manage a marriage living in two countries?

She lives with me in Riyadh, so we're not actually apart much. It's almost like a normal relationship. She has a job over there too.

As an Englishman (read:relatively liberal), what is the hardest part of living and working in Saudi Arabia?

Simple things really, like a lack of greenery, and not being able to see a football match when I want, that kind of thing

And when(if ever) do you foresee yourself being done with Saudi and moving back to England on a permanent basis? (Or do you see yourself moving elsewhere?)

Probably when I hit 55 - that's sort of the cut-off point I have in mind right now. The worst thing I can imagine is dying over there.
