Revalver Metal Test using impulses

Re: Revalver Metal Test using impulses

Sounds pretty good to me. It makes me want to kick a puppy! Not that I would.... It just makes me want to.

I prefer the 6505 over the 6505+, and I set the mids close to 0 on it. Also, try editing the amps and changing the tubes to "Bright" sounding.

Revalver is just so damned customizable, it's unbelievable. The ability to host other VSTs is incredibly useful too.

Still waiting to hear a good pushed Marshall sound before I commit. The hollowed-out metal chugga I hear in most high-gain demos isn't very useful to me.

Get on the Peavey forum and ask someone to post something. It doesn't have a ton of traffic, but you might get lucky. By the time I'm done tweaking amps, they don't sound like the originals at all.

Haha :D

Well, this was just a quick experiment for a new mix and yes, they are hollow metal tones. They might sound bit thin etc. listened solo but in the mix they sound really tight without any post processing (comp, low/hi pass, eq).

I thought I'd make the review like this:

Five genres (incl. drums, bass) and each of them demoed with 2 or three different amps. No post processing for guitar, just raw audio.

Any interest? If you guys have any suggestions or have something in mind that I should review just leave it here. I'll try to make it as broad as possible.

How you liking Revalver dominus?

I've tried every amp sim on the planet that was under $500. I've also owned a TSL100, 5150, and Triaxis.

Revalver gives me the sounds that I want.

I feel exactly the same way. Well, I'm not sure if I've tried everyone of them but I guess 90%. Had a really bad frustration because couldn't get good sounds for recording. Revalver really gives the sounds that I want too.

to me some tools are better than others, but the creator's abilities are the main thing - these dudes made podfarm and revalver sound a ton better than people with abilities to record live/loud amps:

Darkadian's work is amazing. Have followed him for some time already.

I love those drums in his mix. They are so clear and punchy.

EDIT: Tones used in this mix, also in the OP:
