Purchased a
Wilkinson VS100N-HG Gotoh Licensed Tremolo - Honed Gold 2-Point Tremolo

REVERB DISPUTE TREM.jpg

It was not a Wilkinson VS100N-HG but rather the seller sent a Wilkinson WVS50K which is a much cheaper item and not made to fit an American or Mexican two point tremolo but rather just about any Squier or Asian two point tremolo. Before it was shipped I told the seller that from his picture the item did not look like what was listed. He said it is exactly what is listed so I figured he might have just grabbed a stock photo and did not cancel the order.

Once I received the order it was not as listed but was the lesser product. At that point I messaged the seller and he began lying profusely. He eventually agreed to accept the return for refund with me paying the return shipping. Both Paypal and Reverb said to wait until he provided a label through their official channels. This has not occurred. I was given the feeling that if I shipped it back without going through the proper procedure the seller might keep the return and not refund me. I have been shopping online for about 20 years on Ebay and lately on Amazon and others and have never confronted this kind of problem.

Any suggestions on the least expensive means of shipping the return that also covers me?

Re: Reverb Item not as Described....

You are covered by Reverb and PayPal so do what they tell you to...gonna stink because it will most likely take a while to receive the funds back. Sorry you went through that.

Re: Reverb Item not as Described....

Not the same thing but I had to deal with a seller on Reverb who was long winded in shipping. Reverb customer service was fantastic. Made contact with the seller for me when mine were ignored and got the seller to ship within a couple of days. I cant say that all Reverb people are the same but I would follow their procedure.

Re: Reverb Item not as Described....

Contact Reverb and explain the situation, as mentioned, they are very good at staying on top of things.

Re: Reverb Item not as Described....

PayPal is really good about this. If you open a dispute and the seller never responds, they side with you and refund your money.

But it might take a month and you have to follow the process.

Sorry to hear. I have an issue where USPS dropped the ball. Ordered a pickup with free 2-day delivery. Was scanned on the 1st, again on the 4th, and then nothing until the 9th and 10th where it JUST LEFT the same city as the seller! What should have arrived on the 4th is still en route to me. The seller is working on finding out what's up with that so all good. It's not his fault.

Re: Reverb Item not as Described....

USPS padded envelope will probably run you around $5.50
The Chat feature works great on Reverb. Just proceed with the return the way they advise and hopefully everything works out.

Re: Reverb Item not as Described....

Simply start a Paypal dispute, and notify reverb. It may take a few weeks but you will get your money back. I recently had a bad experience buying a guitar on Reverb, the idiot had no idea about shipping and decided to try to get another $50 off of me even though we had a final deal (he accepted my offer)....then he disappeared. The worst part was the shipping of $50 would easily have covered it because we are not too far from each other. Maybe he was letting them box it. wrap it etc....IDK and IDC. Paypal and Reverb were very good about it, it was frustrating to wait but all was taken care of....no problems. Good luck.

Re: Reverb Item not as Described....

Make him send you a label or he'll be out a trem and the money
