Nostalgic Distortion

So I was cruising Reverb.com the other day looking for Tele pickups. I acquired a new-ish MIM Tele in a recent trade and I knew that the pickups that came with it had to go but I had no idea what I was going to be replacing them with? I have a few other Tele's, one setup as a very Hot traditional Telecaster, a Cab, a Mahogany H/H, EXC. so I can go a lot of directions with this & still be covered in those departments...
So, me being me decided that the best thing to do was buy a whole bunch of pickups and see what sticks when I throw them at the guitar? BTW, I'll probably have some Telecaster pickups for sale on the Trading Post pretty soon, so you know, keep an eye out for that. LOL!!!
Anyway as I was flipping through the used section I happened upon a Hot Rails for Tele for sale & they were asking $45 shipped. The description literally just said "Hot Rails for Tele" and there was only one picture. The picture was dark and vague and to be honest I'm not a huge fan of Hot Rails in the first place but then again I've only ever tried it in the bridge of a Stratocaster so trying the Tele pup could be fun?

I made an offer of $20 thinking they would decline & the guy accepted within two minutes of me making the offer!!! I figured for that price it's worth a shot but I also expected the pickup to show up looking like it had been run through the blender! Between the vague pic & super low price I thought there had to be something cosmetically wrong with it but much to my surprise when it arrived today it's in pristine condition!!! The lead has been cut but there's still about 8in there, other than that it's a great looking pickup that cost me about the same as 2 packs of strings!!!!
