Reverend Hellhound Reverb Tank Disconnect

Any harm leaving a reverb tank permanently disconnected on a Reverend Hellhound?

Not early on, but for years it has leaked reverb into the output when the reverb is dialed all the way down. I've cleaned the connections, switched around the old tubes, and recently replaced all the tubes; nothing has changed.

I never use amp reverb, so I was hoping I could just leave it disconnected. But I love this amp and obviously don't want to ruin it.

I posted a week ago on the reverend forum, in a reply to a thread from years ago, where I guy had the same issue but the thread never exposed the results, but no one has replied yet.

Thanks

there shouldn't be any reason it would hurt the amp to leave it disconnected all the time

the issue might be the pot on the reverb control

Ok thanks. I forgot about the pot.

I had seen some info on other amp brands saying some designs could be affected, due to changing loads, the design reqwuiring a certain load, etc. No clue if those were true or not. This is just not an area I'm familiar with. Maybe they meant a replacement tank, when connected, should be spec'd to a certain load...and that's all I'm going try guesing at..lol.

Some pots have a switch at the end of the travel that opens the circuit
