Rewiring a speaker for different impedence

Is it possible to wire a speaker in a combo amp so that it matches the impedence of the amp?

I've got an 8 ohm speaker that I would like to put in a 4 ohm amp. Is it possible? Is it possible to physically alter the speaker itself to change the ohmage?

Thanks.

No...it is not possible to rewire a single speaker to change that speaker's impedence. Whatever that speaker is, it is. If you had it reconed, you could change it to what ever you need...that's not the same as rewiring it. You'd have to replace the voice coil and cone...under $100 usually. Lew

The easiest thing to do would be to get another 8ohm speaker and wire the two in parallel to make the total impedance 4ohms.
