roy's should've repeated at least once more to really get the point accross. spock's on the other hand you could really get the vibe and mood the song sets, which imo is suspense and mystery.

Holy smokes this is a blowout. I thought it would be much closer than this... I feel sorry for Roy... Dude, if we could give percentages, you probably would have gotten 45% of my vote.

you have hit on another thought i had recently ... i wonder if the voting software could be adapted to allow percentage voting with the total equaling 100% ... another way would be to be given 5 votes that we could split up between the two candidates (0-5, 1-4, 2-3, 3-2, 4-1, 5-0) ...

but as i thought about it, it occurred to me that in the end, it probably wouldnt effect the outcome, but it would give loser a little solace more often then not

losing 60-40 would feel better than 95-5 .... but it'd still be a loss

That's what I was thinking, t4d. I feel bad for the guy, because he really is getting squashed. Whereas each guy may feel like one is only 5 or 10% better, the voting makes it look like one is being CRUSHED. And there's no way to tell if that's the truth or not.

And in my honest opinion, the one is only slightly better than the other.

As someone who was pretty much blown out in the first round of R-O 1, I know what Roy's feeling :lol:

But you get over it and set your mind to kicking ass and taking names "next time".

When I was a little kid I got hungry for popcorn one night so I volunteered to make a batch for family movie night. I'd seen my dad do it a hundred times before. How hard could it be? I'll make a big batch and I'll be the hero! I burned it. My mom was really harsh on me and said it sucked. I was surprised that she wasn't at lest giving me props for my effort. She told me it was to ensure I got better and she wouldn't have to eat crappy, subpar popcorn again.

Roy was just unlucky to come up against a different kind of riff which is getting the votes.
It should certainly be a bit closer.

I like acoustic riffs. This one is a little long, but I certainly have no room to dock points for that. Nothing fancy here, but solidly played. The ambient sound and solo acoustic strumming creates a lonely feeling to this that I really like. Ending on the harmonic was a nice choice also. A solid contribution from Spock.

Roy G. Biv
Well-played as well, but I'm stumbling over the phrasing of this riff. I'd like to hear it set to a metronome or drum beat, and repeated, so I could get a real feel for it. As such, I enjoy the oft-ignored use of space here and the riff definitely surprised me with the resolution. Unexpected without being contrived. Not bad at all.

Roy's riff was not bad - if I had to give marks instead of just choosing one it wouldn't be so far behind Spock's. I had to listen to them twice before I could decide.
