Ring Modulators

I know there aren't that many, but what ring mods are you guys using, and do you have any clips of them in use? The EHx Frequency Analyzer sounds cool, and the Moog one is packed with features, but I'm not sure I need the LFO on it...

Re: Ring Modulators

There's always the DOD Gonkulator. www.buildyourownclone.com used to sell a kit for a ring modulator too, but he discontinued it, maybe you can get him to email you the parts list and instructions and you can order the parts yourself? I'm almost positive he orders all his stuff through smallbearelec.com, then writes instructions and packages it up for sale.

Re: Ring Modulators

Lovepedal makes one, it's quite expensive though. I am pretty confident in the EHX brand for any psych(I assume if your buying a ring mod you not looking for the norm) sounds.

Re: Ring Modulators

my snarling dogs wah pedal has the ring modulator on it. you can control the 'sweep' with the wah pedal with or without the wah. pretty cool even though i'm not a fan of ring modulating so i never use it.

Re: Ring Modulators

I agree, you can't go wrong with eHx for crazy sounds... It's not too expensive so I might go with it. On the Snarling Dogs, does the pedal affect the ring modulator or is it just a wah?

Rid, are those ring mods or ovtavia clones?
Edit - Ooh... I just listened to the Chicago Iron pedals, the Parapedal and Octavian are pretty cool...

Re: Ring Modulators

Bump for any other ring mods. I'm looking for tunable ring mods (hence I think I'm looking for a little more than an Octavia) with a bypassable LFO if they have one.

Re: Ring Modulators

The Moog seems to be your best choice(?) It does have bypassable LFO and I mean.... It's a moog.
