Roger Mayer Vision Wah, most comfortable wah ever

Just got my new RM Vision Wah. Obviously too soon to judge about the sound quality and sonic potential but I can say without a doubt that this is the most comfortable and ergonomic wah pedal ever.

Its built to be a little under an inch off the floor which right there makes its way more comfortable to use as your not so off balance.

The pedal actually ends with a touch of a downward angle and starts at a much less steep angle so its a very natural movement for your foot. The typical crybaby style design requires you to lift your foot so at the bass end which can get a bit uncomfortable and requires a bit more effort. It basically feel like your keeping your heel on the floor and just moving your toes.

The treadle itself is constructed of carbon fibre and its perfectly balanced in any position with no resistance (thought you can dial some in if you want) Its so amazing fast and fluid. Its as if theres no wah under your foot and your simply tapping your foot on the floor.

Playing a funky song, I can do a very fast auto wah type sound and not get tired or fatigued in the slightest because it feels no different than just tapping my foot to the beat.

Also very cool is that it uses no pots so its totally noiseless and the on/off switch is an electronic pressure sensor (sort of like a digital scale) so theres no switch to pop or click or not have trigger.

One thing I'm really digging, or should I say the other half is digging, is that theres no click, click, click when I'm playing late at night. You all know how on a typical wah when you sweep it forward it hits the rubber bumbers and make a bit of a thumb, not to mention the click of the switch getting tapped. This thing is totally silent

Now the Teese RMC3 I've got is the single best sounding wah I've ever used so it will be hard to beat that, if even possible. But as far as ease of use and ergonomics go the Vision feels 100 times better under my foot. I don't know if I can go back to the normal style wah lol

Oh, on other cool little tidbit is that its got a blend knob. Never seen that before on a wah and maybe isn't really anything especially needed, but its actually been sort of cool to blend a bit of clean signal in with the wah.

Just like how the sparkle drive lets you mix some clean with the OD sound, this works the same way and its actually pretty cool on cleaner tracks to get that little bit of clean guitar to the mix

Thanks for the review. I was looking at that a couple of years ago, but couldn't get any feedback about it.

It sounds great!

Wow, those things are more expensive than I thought. How much did you get yours for?
Are they really around $600?

The Roger Mayer Vison looks awesome, but does it sound as good as that Teese, or just another flavor of good?

Re: Roger Mayer Vision Wah, most comfortable wah ever

I picked mine up on ebay for a "steal" at $395 lol $619 seems to be the going price at retailers which is just an insane amount of money for a wah. I was so curious I couldn't pass up a used one.

All of RM's stuff is pricey (not Pete Cornish bad but still darn high) but I guess some expensive parts did go into the pedal.

For example instead of a gear driven pot it uses an electro magnetical proximity sensor and instead of the 3pdt switch it uses an electric pressure sensor thats fully adjustable, plus it uses sealed relays for bypass etc. Exactly what that adds to the price I really don't know but those aren't your typical componets.

Re: Roger Mayer Vision Wah, most comfortable wah ever

I'll give the Vison wah kudos for feel and cool/original design but I didn;t care for the tone personally...it just seemed to be almost too "clean' not clean in terms of crunch or distortion but just clean/easy sounding...Im sure that makes no sense to anyone except me but...

Anyway, that is a good deal so either way you;re in a great spot!

I hope you dig it, I did kind of like the blend feature but I didn't see myself really using it much plus the price gave me heart problems so it stayed at the store!

Good luck!
