Roller Nuts - and their installation

HE people I was wondering about those Fender LSR Roller nuts... what's so special about them (besides that they consist of those bearings)? I mean what do they do better?
The second thing is, that they need to be put in with screws... my current nut doesn't have screws.. is it a proble if I drive some into my neck?

LSR Roller nuts require a special nut slot. If the guitar isn't originally routed for one of those nuts, you'll have to modify it before you can install one. Personally, I don't like them, I think a good graphite or Earvana nut will keep you in tune every bit as well.

What the roller nut does is keep the guitar in tune better, especially when using the tremelo arm. It definetly works. And you should be able to have it installed on your guitar no problem.

A properly cut graphite or similar material nut should theoretically be just as effective. Again, as Ryan said, the roller nut needs a special slot. If you have a "standard" nut right now, it will need to be widened by a pro.
