Ronno Tribute Project - LPC

Re: Ronno Tribute Project - LPC

I stripped by hand scraping the top. I didn't want to sand thru what I assumed would be a veneer and a power sander can do that in a heartbeat especially on a carved top. I used razor blades which was tedious but I was patient and it came out great. I didn't like the idea of chemical removers or a heat gun either but I may try them at some point on a basket case to see what kind of results I get.

The pickups are spec'd to '68 t-tops, made By a great local guy I am friends with, www.tonemaster.net

I avoided scraping the binding when doing the top, it got a light sanding with the rest of the top when I removed all finish.

So much want!

I was gonna ask if you knew about the documentary. I am quite sure you already know all this, but for those that may not.

Thanks!

A little bit of playing so far, I've had a lot of projects to get done. It definitely has the sound, I need to get my rig set up and play it through that. Thru the Mustang III I have a killer Ronno patch that's easy easy, thru the bassbreaker and the Orange I'll be fronting it with an EH Cockfight pedal that should be a perfect match for it. As for playability it's really good, I still need to get a better nut than the plastic one it has on it, that'll seal the deal.

the pickups are pretty righteous

I am going to try and do a demo in the next few days. I just tore apart my little shop to make it a bit more user friendly so we'll see how that goes.
