Room for one more pedal... Help sway my decision...

I've been on the fence about whether or not I need another pedal and I have decided that the more toys the better.

But when it comes down to it I am uncertain what would be the best addition.

My current board consists of

Ibanez Weeping Demon Wah
MXR Dynacomp
Fulltone Fulldrive 2
Big Muff Pi
MXR 10 band Eq
EHX Deluxe Electric Mistress
Little Alligator Volume
Boss DD-20

Amp: AC15

I'm on the fence of whether or not to add another dirt pedal or a modulation effect.

I realize I have several options for dirtying up my tone. All my pedals are widely known so it isn't like anyone needs an explanation of what each of them does.

The Fulldrive is almost always on. Driving the amp to a nice break up and the boost side is dialed in for some hairer push. I don't really use it as a lead boost just a step up in gain.

The Big Muff gives some big nasty distorted tones.

I'm considering a distortion peal to land me betweent those two. Something suitable for rhythm and some fun riffing. I'm just not sure what I need. I've considered a Fulltone GT-500 but I don't really need another Boost. Just the distortion side. So I considered the Plimsoul.
But then again I might be just as happy with something simple like an MXR Classic Distortion and my bank account would be happier too.
Basically I'm not trying to pull High-gain EVH or Mesa tones out of this amp. I'd say I would like a more Marshall voiced distortion but I know that this amp will never sound like that. Which someone on here highly recommended the GT-500 for that application in an older thread I started but as mentioned I don't really need or want another Clean boost option.

On the other side I am considering a chorus pedal. Something for soft and subtle tones. I like my chorus very subdued. A barely there kind of sound for nice shimmering clean tones. Not too crazy about adding it in on distorted tones.

I've started several threads recently debating different options for my board and I am probably as sick of asking questions as you are of answering them.

So if I add one more pedal what would you recommend? Or is there another fun pedal I am missing that you think I would benefit from?

As far as the musical style I play. I play at church a lot. So think Hillsong, Chris Tomlin or Jesus Culture.
I also like a lot of classic rock tones and a some garage rock.

My pedalboard (by this I mean the physical board) is Almost done. My friend and I have been building it in our spare time. We should wrap it up Friday when he comes over for steaks. (Yeah... grilling steaks, building stuff and playing guitar.... Perfect)

Phase, Flange, SD-1, OCD, ZW Chorus, etc. Those are some good choices

Yeah... but if you were adding just one which would it be? Would you be more inclined to add a modulation effect or one of the dirt pedals?

Re: Room for one more pedal... Help sway my decision...

we play the same stuff...you need more modulation!

i love having a Trem on my board, but Chorus or Phase would be a great addition as well.

although, with my flashback, i get some great modulated delay tones on there, so i can never convince myself to pickup a chorus or phaser.

Anything you would recommend? Other than my Flanger I have no modulation. I'm not sure what to add.

My amp has onboard tremolo that I am happy with. So I guess I have 2 bases covered.

i'd get a chorus then...and there are a LOT of great chorus pedals out there!

but, if it were me...for the money...this is HARD to beat!!! i debate on whether to take off my trem and squeeze this on my board all the time!

A chorus should make it a little thicker, but have you considered an octave divider? It's a cool effect when used in moderation.

Hoss - I've seen that one on MF. I've not seen many used yet. And None in my area. It looks interesting though.

I'm thinking I want something as simple as possible. I don't want to fidget with 5 knovs and some switches. Just set and forget. But I know that I may be happier with something that gives me more control...

If you have to ask you probably shouldn't get another pedal IMO. It just sounds to me like you are on the verge of impulse buying IMO.

You probably hit the nail on the head right there. I should maybe stay away from the forum for a little while 'til this GAS subsides...

You can always sleep on the idea of getting another pedal. At this point I'd say just make use of the pedals you already have and see how you feel a few weeks down the road. If eventually you have confidence in another pedal purchase go for it. If not, it's just potentially a waste of money and a waste of a pedal if you can't find a use for it. Just stuff to think about.... :)

Lol

Well let me know how it works out for you!

Re: Room for one more pedal... Help sway my decision...

I've got the Corona. Very versatile, can go from very subtle (which I like) to whatever you want. Great pedal, and probably a chorus pedal that will stay very long on this board!

Re: Room for one more pedal... Help sway my decision...

i'm digging this little thang too!!!

Cool... But that is more than I would care to pay. The Corona Chorus is just at the edge of my limit.

I know you get what you pay for but I try and work within a tight budget...

I wish something like the Line6 MM4 (or other brand name all in one unit) were as good in reality as they seem in theory. It would let me kick off a few other items and run more in out of one box. Meh...

go used my friend...ALWAYS used!

Re: Room for one more pedal... Help sway my decision...

I just did some searching and have a line on a Line 6 MM4 for $80. I'd be tempted to pick that up and have an all-in-one. I don't use modulation a whole lot so I would be willing to make the compromise with a unit like this.

I could move my Electric Mistress to pick it up too...

I just need to stay away from the forum, craigslist, ebay and everything else that makes me want to pick up new gear.

Re: Room for one more pedal... Help sway my decision...

wish i had room for this!!!

i may have to do some measuring!!

Re: Room for one more pedal... Help sway my decision...
