Rosewood fretboard price increase

Hi. I have noticed that rosewood fretboards have gone up in price a little bit lately. I bought a used 2005 Mexican Strat in 2012 for about $315.00. In the future, will the value of my guitar be going up? If so, will it be worth a lot more in the distant future? I have no desire to sell it. I'm just curious. I already know it was a good investment.

Re: Rosewood fretboard price increase

CITES included rosewood this year, so all rosewood crossing borders needs to be documented. Fender have switched to Pau Ferro for the MIM instruments to avoid this going forward.

I doubt you'll see a large value increase in your guitar. Fender makes something like 30,000 guitars in Mexico every year. The ones that go up in value number in the hundreds per year.
