Re: rosie is born!

A pickguard? Like: why screw a sheet made of plastic onto a lacquered piece of wood without the need to cover anything?
It isn't the situation when there is an unsightly cavity underneath, so I say leave it bare.

Re: rosie is born!

hmm, mostly to hide my unsightly screw up. I had a run and in certain light you can still see it.

Re: rosie is born!

Cream/Parchment for me.
Tinted lacquer from ReRanch on that white guard would be loooooovely to me.

And prolly some on that fretboard/neck too :)

Re: rosie is born!

The black accentuates the image and helps tone down the red in the color making it a more subtle yet striking axe. The white doesn't compliment the overall look as well.

That's just me though.
I agree. And the white kind of gives off a cheap feel to me. Black pickguard with a custom tele control plate with rivets to match the sticker perhaps? That would be pretty neat.

you had me til the tele control plate. I wanna keep the traditional cabronita shape. I am thinking maybe black, red black pickguard with Rosie engraved into it so the rosie shows Red.

Alright. Personally, I've never liked the look of black/color/black pickguards. For me, it's all black or black/white/black (or reverse for white).
But how about this idea then? Cabronita pickguard in riveted metal? With Rosie in an old-timey font, kind of like this: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_v88HsVUUpsU/TQm6juQpSqI/AAAAAAAABPM/Qy8DNSRt69I/s1600/9a4b_12.jpg
