Re: RWRP set for a jazzcaster/telemaster?
Hi Silence Kid, Thanks for your helpful input in this matter!
But stil: I do not want to change wiring direction: I want to keep the ground wires close to the magnets on the Jazzmaster pickup. If I reverse winding direction the magnets become capacitavely close to "hot" which causes more hum/buzz (especially if you touch the magnets). This I do not want.
If this question remains unsolved, I will just order the Duncan SJM-1n (which I find superb!) and send it to a local pickupwinder to have me a telecaster bridge pickup made, wound in RWRP to this one to my specs. Perhaps even a tapped coil in this case!
I know the Duncan custom shop could pull this off, but here in europe their distance to me through their distributors is just too long. Also my dealer/builder discount comes into play here:
I love Duncan pickups, and have used them professionally since 1993, but the discounts I am getting on their products are getting smaller here. Especially when I compare european webshop prices with my wholesale prices, the difference becomes negible.
I sincerely hope to get a good tech answer to my question, as I would like to have Seymour Duncan Pickups in this artist guitar.
15 years ago I couls call seymour duncan, and get a straight asnwer. Today I try through the forum, and send them an email. Still no answer. My mark up on Duncan Products compared to webshop prices is decreasing. I very much consider to go completelely custom, and ask someone local to wind my pickups. But as things are, I want to use Seymour Duncan, and I want this question answered.
Kind regards, Roosje Urbach
