Saturday Night Special in a Chambered Les Paul ?

I have an Epiphone Frampton Model. I am considering replacing the bridge and neck with the Saturday Night Special set. I have these in an Explorer and really like them but I am a little concerned about the hollowness' of the guitar. It is almost like like an ES on the inside without the F holes. Any experience or thoughts? I play mostly classic rock and use Marshall style amps. I don't play with a lot of gain. I am looking for good clarity and a smooth sweet top end with well defined bottom end but not necessarily super tight. The Epi pickups are OK.. but I think the guitar can sound better with quality pickups.
 
Well, I have used the SNS set in an ES335 and 339 before, and it sounded amazing. I think it sounds better in a semi than it does a solidbody, really. I think you will not only be just fine, but probably really love it.
 
i agree, i think itll sound great in that type of guitar. the sns neck is clean and clear, the sns bridge is almost a little dark in some guitars but ive found it works well live
 
I think I'm gonna give it a shot. I'll figure what to do about the middle pickup at some point in the future.
 
do you use the middle pup much? i love the neck, neck + bridge, bridge settings on a lp. the middle + bridge setting is nice too but i didnt use it much when i used a three pup lp

On the Frampton wiring the middle pickup is always in the circuit but it has it's own volume and tone controls. I sometimes dial in a touch of it to round out the tone. On the neck position I dial in more to brighten the tone. It's not really a major factor and so it may be OK to just leave the Epi pickup in there.
 
Update: I ended up going with the SNS set and they worked nicely in the Epiphone Frampton Les Paul. I took it a step further and installed a 59 bridge in the middle pickup position. Happy with the guitar's tone now. Thanks for all the input.
 
Chambered Les Pauls don't sound exactly the same as their 12 lb+ sisters, but they sound much closer to them than they do to a true semi-hollow like a ES-335.

I think that would be a great guitar/pickup combo.

The SNS set is a good choice. I bet it rocks with a 59 in the middle.
