It can be fixed, I had mine overhauled late last year by BMF effects and it was worth it...mine was in better shape than that one but it can still be done as long as the inductor isn't dead.
As for your other questions, the Sound City wah Face was made by Jen in Italy in the very early 70's.
They sound quite good (if you like the typical Jen wah sound...sharp top, short throw and not a lot of bass).
If you aren't willing to fix it drop me a PM...it needs a lot of love but I might be willing to do something with it...
