I gotta say and im not trying to be weird but when i sit in a chair with this 68 Custom Shop Historic @ 10 lbs 6 oz i can feel it resonate [unplugged] in my nards and no other guitar has done that.
I play with .011 to .050 medium gauge.
Its just incredible.

I don't think there is a guitar that doesn't resonate at all (unless it's Les Paul's railroad rail), I think it's more a question of which frequencies.

Agree, everyone is different and likes different things
I've always found LPs to just not fit me right. Especially to play a lead part.

But I've grown to like them much more these days. I enjoy their huge sound and compactness. Still don't like the controls.

I've got 2 at over 9lbs and one under 8. I don't notice any one of them sounding more or less thunderous than the others.

Explorers have always fit me the best, not sure I can point to why that is. They feel and play effortlessly.

LP is one of the most uncomfortable guitars for me, 99.9% of Gibson guitars fall into that category.

As far as vintage guitars, I agree. The only one I prefer is usually an SG if it's free of the neckdive issue most have. But many of them don't. And they don't sound like Les Pauls either.

I like less things than I hate about an LP.

In the early 90s I had a very nice white studio (usa) with gold hardware. It served me well and I really enjoyed the stock pickups, but ultimately I realized that the basic floyded super-strat was much more my flavor.

I play with the butt of the guitar on my inner thigh, like you would play a V. Classical position when sitting and the guitar position doesn't change when standing up.

I don't think a LP would work too well that way. People who play them sitting down have the waist resting on their leg. I don't get a good angle on the upper frets when I play that way.

When I hold a LP, it feels like too much of the guitar is to my right.

One of the more annoying things about them is when I'm tapping & my right forearm keeps knocking the selector switch to the neck position from the bridge as I move down the fretboard...always happens & it's pretty difficult/awkward trying to avoid. Upper fret access is'nt the greatest either..

Some people manage to find workaround's but I would'nt say it's a shredder's guitar...

I'd say more like a Camry. Good at a lot of things, but not really a high-performance vehicle. Sure, great players can make them work, and they have lots of different types of great players, too.

With good fretwork any neck can be super fast if you're not bothered by the heel. At that point it comes down to how it sounds, how it looks.
