Schaller tailpiece on a stock bridge? Bc rich neck size *NEED HELP*

I purchased a lesson Paul style bridge to put on my bc rich warlock. It came with a crap strat style vibrato system and I have always wanted to convert. I now have the money to transform this monster. I want to put a locking nut on it and a fine tuning tailpiece from schaller. I have a TOM style saddle piece and I'm ready to put it on but I need to know if the schaller tail will cause any issues. I don't have a schaller saddle piece. Do I need the set or will the one I have do? A locked down and totally tuning stable fixed bridge guitar is just a dream for me. Some call it unnecessary but I move a lot on stage and bump around time to time and occasionally I play a tad hard and pull out of tune. I want to K of this will work? And also are bc rich necks all compatible? I'm talking bolt size and slot size here not the obvious "you can't put a different fret number neck on there dummy" comment. I'm not totally dumb. I'm just a little dumb :p

Um ready to get my project going so hit me with some advice people! I'm not changing my mind.

So the guitar came with a strat-style bridge and you want to replace it with a stopbar + tuneomatic traditional Gibson-style layout, but with the fine-tuning tailpiece, is that what you're saying?

The Schaller fine-tuning stopbar will work with any TOM-style.

The issue you're going to face is locating the holes for them, as it was built around the trem. You might punch through the trem cavity when drilling for the inserts for the other setup.

Can't help with the necks, though. I'd assume that you could put a locking neck on it.

I'm going to be filling the cavity with wood block. Also leaving the back cavity part that's not below the bridge open so I can install actives without extra routing. Just leaving a small space. If that's the only issues with the bridge convert I'm a happy camper! I also found some necks online I'm hoping might fit. If it doesn't fit is there any way I can make it work? Anyone?

Any tom bridge replacing a strat style will need to be recessed.

Elaborate please? As much info as I can get.

Like in this pic. Obviously a tom style bridge sits a lot higher then a strat so you will have to compensate by lowering it into the body/

What was the next question? haha.

About how far should I recess ya think? And the spacing. Would it be different? Or need adjusted? It a big rebuild so I know little details will try to ruin it haha

I dont know what spacing it has you can look with a ruler and compare. I am not certain how far you should go down but if you take it as low as thel owest point that the strat saddle were at then you can raise it but the posts and go from there.

I am all for crazy conversion. I have converted a 24 fret floyd guitar to a 21 fret hardtail. Yea the ship one in my signuture. haha. You don't wanna **** a perfectly good guitar tho so you better get this right hehe

Sounds like a plan. And I feel dumb for asking how far to recess now haha is the string spacing different on a strat than a Gibson? Anyone?

Haha and trust me I have room to screw up. It's a particle board/plywood body haha it has some growl though for some crazy reason. I have such a heavy amp tone though (death metal guy) that you can barely tell. It's just slightly less warm than alder. Brightness comes from its maple neck. It's cool when I play shows and they ask me about the thing. I always get compliments on its tone (the little bit there is) and then I tell them it's plywood and they all facepalm. It's gonna be a hotrod by the end. I'll eventually get a different body and do the same thing and ditch this one. But for now it's good.

I think those schallers are 10.5 spacing and your warlock would have an import spaced bridge? So it should be ok.

Oh i thought the entire setup was a schaller 455 with the locking tuners. I am a bit confused, What fine tuning tail piece are you using?

schaller-fine-tuning-tailpiece-guitar-gibson.jpgLike so but with the tune o matic saddle bridge piece (closest to pickups) not the schaller rolling one.

Re: Schaller tailpiece on a stock bridge? Bc rich neck size *NEED HELP*

So I will have to recess both pieces right?
