Re: schecter c-1 hellraiser VS ltd mh400

as my quest for the perfect guitar continues, I 've stumbled upon a dean vendetta 4 floyd. suppose I swap the pup, will this be a good guitar compared to previously mentioned guitars? (my budget is about 1100$, so if anybody has another good suggestion, plz tell me. it has to be with a carved top, active pups and have a floyd rose)

Have you looked at any Jacksons? They might meet your requirements. If you're willing to spend a bit more the ESP m-II might be a good choice. Floyd, alder body w maple/rosewood neck and EMGS.

Re: schecter c-1 hellraiser VS ltd mh400

Mmn.. I dunno, the one you said looks good but my experience with Deans made me feel like they are cheaply, mediocre at best guitars... I once tried a Michael Schenker that cost a little over your budget (about 1000 euros, not bucks), I guess it would be the Standard, and it left me with the worst impressions.
The neck was so-so, the body less than comfortable and it had the dullest, most uninspiring sound I had ever heard... Furthermore, what really makes me wonder is the fact that in the description for the Vendetta 4 Floyd there's no mention of the woods... Plus, the pups are not active and thus, you'll probably gonna end up looking for a place to put the battery, even route the body...

I second for a Jackson, I think the Hellraiser would be more to your liking but I tried a DK2 once (bolt-on/in? neck) and left me with the best of impressions... I think that if you went for a DK1 (if you can find it anywhere in your price range) or better yet a Soloist you wouldn't be disappointed...

I'm pretty sure that no ESP is anywhere near your price range so I guess that's not an option... Overall the guitars I think you'd like best still are the Hellraiser FR, perhaps a Jackson and if you're willing to pay that sth extra I was mostly impressed by that LAG, it appeared to be very well built...
(Btw, HERE's a link I found while looking for one, you've even got me interested in it, although I literally drool over the AP2000 Royal Blue...)

However, what I'm saying here is simply my opinion on which guitars you would do best to check out yourself!

I would never advice anyone to buy a guitar he never played. (or at the very least, tried a very similar one like the same or very close model).

Most aspects of a guitar are a very personal thing and as such, there's no such thing as "best" but rather, "best for me"...

Re: schecter c-1 hellraiser VS ltd mh400

at the moment I 'm really thinking about the lag. I 've played the cheaper model (af200) and it was really nice, smooth neck and stuff, although the pups sucked... but they were cheap emg hz 's..... the only thing which has kept me from buying a am 1000 is that I 've read some really bad reviews about the frets that were finished really bad.... but it could be that they were just exeptions. anyway thx for the advice everyone.... from here on I think I have to make up my mind, myself.

so quick summary:

schecter c1 hellraiser fr, ltd mh 1000, lag am1000

If I go with one of the above, I should be good , right?

Re: schecter c-1 hellraiser VS ltd mh400

Yeah, I think that any of those will make you happy.

If you liked the AF200 neck then the AM1000's should be ok, just keep in mind that the AF200 is the cheap AP2000 and not the cheap AM1000 (that's the AM100).
Dunno if that'd make any difference, just a heads up though.

Best of luck man, and enjoy!!!
