Anyone tried/owned a C-7 Hellraiser or Blackjack? What's the feel, all pros and cons etc. According to the specs these should be quite good instruments, and the price is also within range.

Re: Schecter C-7

Well, I have never owned a 7 string guitar, and have only played a few at guitar center, but from what I saw from the Blackjack it is a prety awesome guitar if you like the all black look to it, I havn't ever seen a 7 string Hellraiser, but I love the 6 string versions of both of these guitars.

Schecter makes the best guitar in the world as far as im concerned :27:

All the Schecter C1 guitars are near perfectly built, great action, great necks, the neck joints are better than anything exept mabe a neck-through Carvin or something, never had a problem with the electronics or anything, and for around 600$ they can't realy be beat...

Re: Schecter C-7

I've got the Blackjack, and it's a great guitar. I didn't like the hardware, so I swapped it for black, and I've had several different pickups in there. The Duncan JB/59 combo was fine for starters, I just felt it was a little rock oriented, and I use the 7's for slap and pop fingerstyle bass kind of playing as well as regular rock/blues guitar. So then I had Dimarzio TZ7/PAF7, and that was okay too, but a little drab and lifeless. Now I have stock Ibanez V7-7 and V7-8 pickups and I'm shocked at how good they are. I really like them in there.

I also wound an Alnico 5 middle single coil for it too, and routed/installed it. It's great in there. The guitar is great. You wouldn't regret getting the guitar. I love the fact that it's long scale. That's another reason why I love it. They had the courage to put a lot of long scale 7's out there.

Re: Schecter C-7

I want a hellraiser - think how awesome it will sound with the active EMGs.

Re: Schecter C-7

I had a C-7 Hellraiser for a year - only sold it as I don't like 7's anymore.

Probably the best playing axe I've owned - I sold a Jackson RR-1 for it, so that speaks volumes.

Sounded awesome, but looking back, I should've changed the bridge pickup out for an 81-7, and was going to at the end before I went back to 6's.

Best bang for buck instrument, for sure, and they go fairly cheaply used. I just sold mine for 550 shipped.

Re: Schecter C-7

I'm really looknig into these two, but the price tag on these for new is quite something - up to twice the list price indicated on Schecter's home page. At least that's the case with the music shops in my city. Bummer...
