Your best best is to buy from somewhere with a return policy if you can't find a Torero locally and give it a whirl for a few days. It's a great guitar. I really liked the Schether C1 Classic but I dig the Torero more.

I'm biased in favor of Schecter. However, it's a signature guitar. They're cool to have, but if you're looking for a stage guitar, you'll look like a fanboy. I would know. I have an Alexi-600. Granted, it's a great guitar, but I look like a total fanboy playing it on stage. The Synyster Custom plays well, but so does the torero. If you just like the body style of Syn's guitars, maybe you should look into schecter's avenger line. I'm a huge fan of A7x. But I bought my Alexi-600 as a huge fan of Children of Bodom. It's a great guitar, I love it (as I would love a signature guitar of any of my favorite shredders), but it makes me look like I just want to copy Alexi Laiho. That's basically why I'm investing in a new guitar this summer.

It really all comes down to whether or not the guitar you buy is going to make you happy as a musician. Good luck, dude. Happy shredding.

I have a Les Paul signature. Does that make me a fanboy? I don't try to kook like him though.

No fugly inlays (not a huge fan of the Hellraiser cross ones either but they'll do), gloss/matte BLACK body, no stupid inlays on the headstock (which however is the same fugly horned one).

A true CS Schecter Synyster Gates is IMO FUGLY but as a pure instrument is an absolute killer and will stomp an absolute mudhole in the import PRS. And yes I have spent time with both. Those CS higher end Gates Schecters are by far the best guitar they build and are NICE!!

It half looks like an upside down Mockingbird. Doesn't work for me with the horns going in the opposite direction.
