schecter tempest custom

Looking for Real Life
oi... such an underrated guitar

needs a new bridge pickup - sorry boys, the JB is crap

and a new neck one - sorry again, but the jazz doesn't have near enough lows, it's like the neck pickup for people who don't understand neck pickup mojo

but overall it's a great guitar, i have perfect & smooth access to every fret i use, nothing is uncomfortable, the jumbo frets are friggin sweet, and the coil tap thing is just, well, a nice touch

i don't get it, schecter is supposed to be the "poor man's prs" or "the metal prs," i hate most of their guitars, why did they come out with something this awesome for $550?

I have to get one, end of story, and i will be the first man in history to put a bigsby on a schecter

Re: schecter tempest custom

It has the specs I look for in a guitar but I can't get past the way it looks....kinda fugly. And doesn't it have duncan designed?

Re: schecter tempest custom

yeah, but even the mods agree that DD's are very very close to the originals

and to me it looks better than a double cut LP, which costs more, would need the same stuff replaced, and is made of the exact same stuff

Re: schecter tempest custom

I have a Tempest Special. I got it for a pretty good price because it had no pickups. I put a set of Duncan Antiquity P90's in it and this guitar screams. I initially planned on setting it up just for slide, but it sounds so good I decided to keep it available to play anything. Its a great guitar and I would recommend anyone with a limited budget to look at these guitars. Mine has really good tuners and Tone pro bridge and tail piece. Solid Mahogony (the seam is not in the center) and its painted Gold like a "Goldtop". Nice little guitar.

Re: schecter tempest custom

i think i'm goin with a2 pro's when i get it

gold covers, gold tuners, gold bigsby

'twill rule

Re: schecter tempest custom

The APII's in this guitar will sound great.... I have a friend who had a LP Custom and was about ready to sell it 'cause he didn't like the way it sounded, and he had changed out a bunch of pickups. I told him to put the AII's in, if you don't like them I will buy the pickups. He loved them and so did I. great pickups. I thenk AII pros sound as close to a real PAF as I have heard..... very warm round tone! Good luck with them!
